Suspect in 8-year-old girl's murder in Rizal nabbed


Members of the Taytay Police Station arrested on Saturday, September 14, a man tagged in the killing of an eight-year-old girl whose body was found inside a sack in Taytay, Rizal on September 12.

The Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO) did not disclose the identity of the suspect nor the motive behind the killing.

His arrest was personally overseen by Rizal PPO director PCol. Felipe B. Maraggun, along with Chairman Lengjoey Calderon of Barangay Sta. Ana, Taytay, Rizal.

According to reports, the eight-year-old victim was reported missing by her parents on Wednesday, September 11. 

On September 12, authorities said that the body of the victim was discovered inside a sack by residents who initially thought that it was only filled with garbage.

The police conducted an investigation that resulted in the suspect's arrest. 

Taytay Police said the victim had injuries on her face. 

Meanwhile, Taytay Mayor Allan de Leon extended the municipal government's condolences to the victim's family. 

“The local government, in close collaboration with the Taytay PNP, is fully committed to seeking justice for the victim. We are also dedicated to providing ongoing support and assistance to her family as they navigate through this difficult period,” De Leon stated.

“We urge all community members to remain vigilant and prioritize safety. Our collective efforts, alongside the Taytay PNP, are focused on ensuring the well-being of everyone in our community. In these challenging times, let us come together in prayer and solidarity, uniting in our quest for peace and justice,” he added.
