ILOILO CITY – A 36-year-old man was rescued on Saturday, September 14, after his boat capsized in the sea of Concepcion town in northern Iloilo province.

Iloilo Provincial Administrator Raul Banias said Eric Badioso was rescued by crew of the Provincial Bantay Dagat Task Force (PBDTF).
Banias said the boat capsized around 8:30 a.m. after strong winds and heavy rains ripped its outrigger.
The incident occurred near the Puntalis Port where the PBDTF is based.
The PBDTF deployed crew onboard a speedboat and rescued Badioso. The agency also towed Badioso’s boat to port.
Banias warned residents not to venture out to sea due to the bad weather caused by the “habagat” (southwest monsoon).
