BOC seizes P6.8 M worth of drugs at NAIA


The Bureau of Customs (BOC) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) have intercepted illegal drugs at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

In a joint operation on Thursday, Sept. 12, Customs authorities seized four parcels containing 4,877 grams of kush, a high-grade marijuana, and seven vape cartridges containing cannabis oil. 

The estimated street value of the confiscated drugs is P6,85 milion.

The parcels were intercepted at the Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC) in Pasay City. The consignees will be investigated and charged under relevant drug laws.

Customs Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio lauded the successful operation, emphasizing the agency's commitment to preventing the entry of illegal drugs into the country. This operation highlights our unwavering commitment to safeguarding our communities,” he stated.

Under the leadership of District Collector Yasmin O. Mapa, the BOC-NAIA continues to enhance its efforts to secure the nation's borders and combat illegal drug trafficking.
