CAMP ADDURU, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – Police nabbed a New People’s Army rebel considered as the most wanted person in Region 2 (Cagayan Valley) during an encounter in Peñablanca, Cagayan on Thursday, September 12.
Police Brig. Gen. Christopher C. Birung, Police Regional Office-2 chief, identified the suspect as Carding, 27, who had warrants of arrest for violation of the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020 (Republic Act No. 1147) and two counts of attempted murder.
Birung cited the arrest of Carding.

The arrest of alias Carding exemplifies our unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and order in our communities and ensuring that those who threaten our nation's safety are brought to justice. Let this serve as a warning to all who engage in acts of violence and terrorism that we will continue to pursue and dismantle such networks with resolute determination," Birung said.
Meanwhile, police arrested 11 wanted persons in Region 2 on Wednesday, September 11.
Birung said the suspects face homicide, estafa, theft, perjury, qualified theft, rape, Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, RA 11930 or the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM) Act, RA 4136 or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code, and RA 11332, the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act cases.
They are in the custody of arresting units for documentation and proper disposition.
Birung commended operating units for their achievements and thanked the community for their cooperation and support toward a peaceful Cagayan Valley.
