Mitsubishi to bring an ‘unexpected’ model to 9th PIMS

XForce and Triton to be joined by mystery model


The 9th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) will happen from October 24 to 27, 2024, at the World Trade Center, Pasay City, and one of the anticipated exhibitors is Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC).

The brand will make its presence felt with a diverse lineup of vehicles designed to meet the evolving needs of Filipinos. Visitors to the Mitsubishi Motors Philippines booth can expect to see the brand's full range of vehicles, offering something for every type of driver.

Buyers can expect the presence of the all-new XForce, a new contender in the compact SUV segment that slots in between their Xpander and Montero Sport models. It boasts of bold and angular design, T-shaped LED headlights and daytime running lights (DRLs), and high ground clearance and short overhangs to improve its versatility in less than ideal roads. In addition, it comes with an infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Yamaha premium sound system, and selectable driving modes.

There’s also the all-new Triton pickup, sporting an even more rugged and resilient look, propelled by a 2.4-liter two-stage turbo diesel engine. 4x4 variants come with Mitsubishi’s Super Select 4WD-II which features Drive Modes paired with four terrain controls. Finally, the Triton is also packed with the latest advanced driver assist systems (ADAS) like Forward Collision Mitigation System (FCM) with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Change Assist (LCA), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Auto High Beam, and several more.

Naturally, Mitsubishi’s other models like the Montero Sport, Xpander, Xpander Cross, Mirage, Outlander PHEV, and L300 will also be present.

However, Mitsubishi has one final surprise to reveal during its show. The manufacturer said it will showcase an “all-in-one vehicle that combines unmatched capability, advanced safety, and exceptional comfort—ensuring a superior car experience.”

The carmaker remains mum on what specifically it will be. However, it encourages interested buyers to visit its booth at the 9th PIMS in October to find out.
