Lone gunman shoots lumber buyer dead

  • BACOLOD CITY – A 59-year-old lumber buyer was gunned down in Barangay Dolis, Calatrava, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, September 11.

BACOLOD CITY – A 59-year-old lumber buyer was gunned down in Barangay Dolis, Calatrava, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, September 11.

Police identified the victim as Danelson Amolo Sr. of Barangay Dolis.

Investigation said the victim was supervising the hauling of lumber when an unidentified person appeared and shot him.

The victim sustained bullet wounds and taken by his nephew to the Calatrava Municipal Hospital where he was declared dead.

Recovered from the crime scene were six spent .45 caliber cartridge cases, a pair of slippers believed to be owned by the suspect, and the victim’s pair of slippers.

Police Major Wilfredo Benoman Jr., Calatrava police chief, said they are conducting follow-up investigation.
