Mayor Jose Chubasco Cardenas issued Executive Order (EO) No. 67 requiring all business establishments within the city to close by 10 p.m. in compliance with the curfew.

The consumption and sale of alcoholic beverages were prohibited in public places and any gathering during this period to reduce health risks and ensure public safety.

Cardenas said that minors are prohibited in public areas after 10 p.m. unless accompanied by a guardian or for emergency purposes.

The city government imposed the mandatory wearing of face masks for all individuals in public places to mitigate respiratory hazards due to elevated sulfur dioxide levels from Kanlaon.

Face masks must be worn at all times when outside homes, particularly in areas with high pedestrian traffic or where ventilation may be limited.

He said that regular inspections and monitoring will be conducted to ensure that face mask use and curfew regulations are observed.

Cardenas advised the public to stay indoors as much as possible and keep windows and doors closed to prevent the entry of sulfur dioxide.
