16-year-old girl in Tondo held captive, raped for 3 days


A 16-year-old girl was allegedly held captive in Tondo, Manila, for three days and raped several times by a 24-year-old man.

The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the suspect as Christian Navarro, a resident of Mithi Street, Tondo, Manila.

According to the victim, she was abducted by the suspect from her hometown in Antipolo, Rizal on the morning of September 9 and taken to the suspect's house in Tondo where she was raped several times.

From September 9 to 11, the suspect held the victim captive inside his house.

On September 11, the victim asked the suspect if they could go to Luneta Park to which the suspect agreed to.

When the two arrived at the park, the victim managed to borrow a cellphone from a bystander to contact her family.

Her family arrived  in Tondo with the authorities to rescue her on September 12. The suspect was immediately arrested and is now detained at the MPD Ermita Station.

Police said the suspect will face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 7610 or Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, and Republic Act No. 7610 or  Anti-Rape Law of 1997.
