Missing girl found dead in neighbor's house

ATIMONAN, Quezon – A 10-year-old girl was found dead on top of a sink in her neighbor’s apartment in Barangay Zone 1, this town, on Tuesday, September 10.

Police identified the victim as Kenisha, a resident of Barangay Zone 1.

Investigation said the victim visited and left her grandmother’s house at around 5 p.m. on Monday, September 9.

However, Kenisha failed to arrive home and was reported missing to the police on Tuesday midnight, September 10.

Police reviewed closed-circuit television camera footages and saw her entering the apartment of a male neighbor on her way home.

Lawmen proceeded to the house in a follow-up operation and found the body of the victim in the kitchen on top of a sink and covered with pots and pans.

Police also found an extension wire suspected to have been used to strangle the victim next to her body.

A follow-up investigation and manhunt operation are underway against the suspect.

Police forensics investigators are conducting an autopsy on the victim’s body to find out the cause of her death.
