Drug surrenderer shot dead in Ilocos Sur

MAGSINGAL, Ilocos Sur – A 36-year-old drug surrenderer was found dead with multiple bullet wounds beside his modified tricycle in this town on Wednesday morning, September 11.

Police identified the victim as Marnoel T. Santiago, a resident of Barangay Labut here.

Santiago’s body was found on a road in Barangay Patong, in an isolated area far from households.

He was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.

Scene-of-the-Crime Operative investigators recovered 11 empty bullet shells.

Santiago was reportedly a drug surrenderer here.

Follow-up investigation is under way.
