The annual racing event, launched in 2022, features four categories anew, the premier 42km, 21km, 10km and 5km, with the participants wandering through historical sites located in the busy streets of the Philippine capital.

Organized by the IRONMAN Group, the race honors hero Andres Bonifacio while also promoting the city’s local sites – the likes of Jones Bridge, Intramuros, Rizal Park, the National Museum and Manila City Hall.

“Kasi ang City of Manila ang totoong hero nila si Andres Bonifacio. We try as much as possible to the latest date in November [before Andres Bonifacio day],” said  Princess Galura, general manager of Sunrise Events, part of The IRONMAN Group, during Tuesday’s PSA Forum at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.

“Mayroon kaming apat na Ms, memories, miles, music, and medal, and siyempre Manila,” she added in the forum which presented by San Miguel Corporation, Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Olympic Committee, MILO, Smart/PLDT, and the country’s 24/7 sports app Arena Plus.

With already 4,000 in the list, the event is expecting more than 9,000 participants composed of amateur and elite runners from different parts of the country and from abroad.
