Birthday celebration came early for President Marcos as he started receiving well wishes from cancer patients and healthcare professionals three days ahead of his special day.

As he was wrapping up his visit at the Philippine Children's Medical Center (PCMC) in Quezon City on Tuesday morning, Sept. 10, Marcos was given a little surprise from the young cancer patients, who are getting treated at the hospital.

While the President was taking a photo opportunity with the cancer patients, the kids started singing the happy birthday song, as one of them came out with a birthday cake which he gladly took. The merry making lasted until he exited the venue.

Marcos was at the PCMC to donate a P150-millon check for the hospital's procurement of medical equipment. His visit was also in time for the observance of the Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

In his speech, Marcos called the young cancer patients as "little warriors" who teach a powerful lesson—"that life, no matter how fragile, is always worth fighting for."

"In every small voice that I have heard today, in every brave smile that has crossed my path, I have seen a glimpse of that extraordinary courage that can move nations," the President said in his remark.

The Chief Executive, who will be celebrating his 67th birthday on Sept. 13, also received birthday greeting from the medical practitioners at the Philippine Heart Center where he led the inauguration of the Bagong Urgent Care and Ambulatory Service (BUCAS).

The attendees also sang him a happy birthday and gave him a heart-shaped birthday cake at the end of the program.
