Napolcom eyes full connectivity of all police stations via digitalization


The National Police Commission (Napolcom) is eyeing efficient connectivity through digitalization of all police stations across the country. 

“Our target is for all the 1,986 police stations from the region down to all municipalities and cities to have connectivity that includes feedback mechanisms in order to have close coordination among all police stations,” said Napolcom vice chairman and executive officer Alberto A. BernardoBernardo during the 58th Napolcom anniversary.

Bernardo said the full digitization efforts are essential to further improve the services of Napolcom as directed by President Marcos.

During the anniversary celebration, Bernardo led the awarding of plaques and certificates to police awardees, community partners, special awardees, loyalty awardees, model employees, and other awardees.

The hybrid anniversary program was highlighted by the awarding of certificates to 35 officials and members from various law enforcement agencies who won in the Napolcom Commissioner’s Cup.

The Courageous Act Award was likewise given to eighteen 18 uniformed members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) from Cagayan Valley Region, Calabarzon and Bicol. 

“Their brave actions stand as a testament to their dedication and commitment to the safety of others and their courage in the face of danger,” said Bernardo. 

One of the awardees is Police Chief Master Sgt. Dante N Noblejas of Police Regional Office (PRO) 2 who demonstrated exceptional courage and heroic action in the arrest of the West Front Committee Commander on August 31, 2023 while enduring the harsh conditions brought about by Super Typhoon Goring. 

He also facilitated the voluntary surrender of a person listed under the threat group watchlist and another involved in a shooting incident in Lasam, Cagayan on July 29.

The members of the Corcuera Municipal Police Station, Romblon Police Provincial Office led by Police Capt. Rosie M. Galus was also awarded for exhibiting selfless and unwavering courage during the search and rescue operation on August 5 last year wherein despite the imminent danger posed by the perilous sea waves and the challenges of limited resources, their were able to rescue 93 passengers and five crew members aboard a sea vessel.

Police personnel from the Bicol region under the 2nd Platoon, Albay 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company were also awarded for the neutralization of two communist rebels during an attack along the Bicol International Airport Road, Bascaran, Daraga, Albay. 

“Their courage, alertness, and unwavering commitment to duty ensured the safety of civilians, preventing anyone from being caught in the crossfire,” said Bernardo. 

Six Community Service Awardees were also recognized in sincere appreciation of their invaluable contribution and support to the programs and projects of the Commission.

Plaques and certificates were also given to the Napolcom model supervisors and associates, loyalty awardees, and retirees.
