BATAC CITY, Ilocos Norte – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is expected to grace the 107th birth anniversary celebration of his father, the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr. (FEM), with residents and officials of this province on Wednesday, September 11.

Malacanang has issued an executive order declaring the occasion as a non-working holiday in the province.
Among the highlights of the event are thanksgiving Masses and wreath-laying ceremonies at the late Chief Executive’s monuments in Sarrat, this province, and this city, vegetable cook-off at the Imelda Cultural Center and opening of Marcos Mansion here, and distribution of Ayuda sa Kapos ang Kita (AKAP) by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) at the Imelda Cultural Center.
The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte has lined up several activities in line with the celebration dubbed Marcos Fiesta – fire tree-planting on September 5 at the Sirib Mile, job fair on September 7, literary and arts competition on September 9, FEM lectures and launching of rice paddy art featuring Sen. Imee Marcos, FEM’s daughter, at the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) on September 10, and the I Love Ilocos Norte concert on September 13.
Marcos Sr. was born on September 11, 1917 in Sarrat and elected as the 10th president of the Philippines in 1965.
