A female motorcycle rider died after she was ran over by a trailer truck in Paco, Manila, on Tuesday, September 10.
The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the victim as Niexel Gianna Ruiz and the suspect as Archie Garciano Luarez.
Investigation disclosed that the two drivers were cruising the eastbound lane of Quirino Avenue corner Anakbayan Street in Paco at around 4 a.m.
Police said the victim accidentally hit the plastic barrier positioned on the side of the road. The impact threw the female driver off the motorcycle.
The right wheel of the approaching truck, driven by Luarez, hit the victim's head.
Emergency responders declared the victim dead on-the-spot.
Investigators are contacting the barangay authorities to check the closed circuit television (CCTV) installed near the area to backtrack the footage.
Police said the suspect may face homicide charges.
