From facing serious issues back in her day, former beauty queen and actress Anjanette Abayari has finally achieved the peace of mind she deserves.

During an interview on "TicTalk With Aster Amoyo" on YouTube, Anjanette opened up about her past issues, including the ones where she was declared as persona non-grata by former President Joseph Estrada.

"I never took the controversies heavily, but yung persona non-grata, yung nangyari noon. Ako ang may kasalanan nun, kailangan tanggapin ko yun, if I want to learn from it," Anjanette said.

(I never took the controversies heavily, but the persona non-grata, after what happened there. It's my fault, I have to accept that if I want to learn from it)

It can be recalled that in 1999, Anjanette and another beauty queen were involved in a drug case in Guam. Because of this, Anjanette was banned from going back to the Philippines, but the case was lifted in 2003.

The "Darna" actress also shared that despite the controversies at that time, she kept herself grounded and chose not to meddle with the other people involved.

"Because of those controversies and scandals naging malakas ako, naging thick yung skin ko. I'm a very sensitive person, but I cannot show that kasi people at the time would attack me. That thickness grew a lot on me over the years," she said.

(Because of those controversies and scandals I became strong, and my skin became thick. I'm a very sensitive person, but I cannot show that because people at the time would attack me. That thickness grew a lot on me over the years)

Although she kept her head high and did not respond to any issue, Anjanette came to the point where she had to accept the consequences that she did.

"If you don't accept your mistakes, you'll never be able to get up and learn from them. You will never grow if you don't accept your mistakes and learn from them," she added.

Learning to accept the flaws of her past issues, Anjanette admits that she has forgiven her ex-partner David Bunevacz, who was involved in the drug issue in Guam.

According to Anjanette, it took her years to forgive David.

"I can honestly say yes, pero nangyari lang ito last year. I was praying for it for so long, saying lord show me how to forgive kasi hindi ko mapatawad lahat ng ginawa sa akin. I've been praying for it and then may pinadala sa akin sa Joe Ortega na news about him, nung nabasa ko yung news, biglang nawala yung galit sa akin," Anjanette said.

(I can honestly say yes, but it only happened last year. I was praying for it for so long, saying lord show me how to forgive because I can't forgive everything that was done to me. I've been praying for it and then Joe Ortega sent me news about him, when I read the news my anger suddenly disappeared)

Anjanette mentioned that she felt pity after reading the news that was sent to her. Watch the full interview:
