Man drowns in Cagayan River

AMULUNG, Cagayan – A 40-year-old man drowned in the Cagayan River in Barangay Dugayong here on Friday, August 30.

A MAN drowned in the Cagayan River in Amulung, Cagayan on Friday, August 30.

Police identified the victim as Edmar Balisi of Barangay Andarayan, Solana, Cagayan.

Investigation said the victim fell off the boat while he and his relatives were on their way to Barangay Cataggaman Viejo in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

The victim’s relatives didn’t know how to swim to rescue him and sought assistance from authorities.

Authorities failed to find the victim who was swept away by the river current.

A search operation resulted in the discovery of the victim floating near the river bank on Sunday morning, September 1.
