House Deputy Majority Leader for Communications ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo thanked the public on Sunday, Sept. 1 for standing by his family's side following the passing of their matriarch, Caridad Teshiba Tulfo.

In a statement, Rep. Tulfo and the rest of Caridad's children expressed their sincere gratitude "to all those who sympathized, sent flowers, donated to foundations and helped for the proper five days of mourning" until their mother's remains were taken to the final destination at the Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig City on Sunday.

“We would like to thank everyone who joined us in our moments of sorrow," Rep. Tulfo said.

“Maraming, maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat na nakidalamhati sa amin na kahit papano ay pinawi ninyo ang lungkot na naramdaman ng aming pamilya dahil sa pagpanaw ng aming ina," he added.

(Thank you very much to all those who sympathized with us, it helped lessen our family's  sadness over the passing of our mother.)

The family also asked for the understanding of motorists who may have been disturbed by the funeral procession of their mother's remains from Quezon City to Taguig on Sunday morning.

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that may have caused to some motorists yesterday due to the funeral procession," Senator Raffy Tulfo said.

Caridad passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at the age of 97 due to natural causes.

Nanay Caring is survived by her children Ramon Junior, Tuchi, Wanda, Ben, Bong, Joseph, Raffy, Erwin, and Edelle.
