CAVITE – Gov. Jonvic Remulla announced the suspension of classes at all levels in the province on Monday, September 2, due to inclement weather brought by tropical storm Enteng.
In a Facebook post evening on Sept. 1, the governor said he met with the provincial disaster council about the tropical storm.
“Ayan!!! Tapos na meeting namin. Base sa imbitasyon ko kay #EntengPH siya ay paparating na lunes pero bandang tanghali pa ang dating niya (There you go!!! Our meeting just ended. Based on my invitation to #EntengPH, he will be arriving this Monday, but it will be around noon),” Remulla wrote.
“Sabi ko naman ‘K lang yan bro, we shall wait.' KAYA ETO NA!!! Classes suspended in all levels Monday, September 2, 2024 #WalangPasok (Classes are suspended at all levels on Monday, September 2, 2024. #NoClasses)."
Based on the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration’s general flood advisory issued at 6:00 a.m. on Sept. 4, moderate to heavy rains are expected in Cavite.
Watercourses, particularly Laboc (Balsahan), Cañas, Ylang-ylang, Imus, and Maradondon rivers and their tributaries are likely to be affected. Residents living mountain slopes and the low-lying areas of the river systems are advised to be alert of possible flashfloods.
