'Wag astang mayabang': Guanzon gives Roque unsolicited advice on POGO issue

P3PWD Party-list nominee Rowena Guanzon has told his fellow lawyer, former presidential spokesman Harry Roque to dial back on his "arrogant posture".

Guanzon gave this unsolicited advice to Roque in light of Congress' ongoing investigations on the issue of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO).

As per her observation of the public hearings, Guanzon says that "Harry is in a very tight spot."

She warned Roque--who is loyal to former president Rodrigo Duterte and incumbent Vice President Sara Duterte--about the possibility of going up against pro-Marcos senators and House members, as well as opposition senators.

"BBM (Bongbong Marcos) senators and congressmen and opposition senators together can be a powerful lot.

"Huwag na kasi mag astang mayabang pa (Just drop the arrogant posture now)," Guanzon said as if speaking to Roque directly.

Roque, also a one-time Kabayan Party-list congressman, has been appearing as a resource person in the separate inquiries of the House of Representatives and the Senate on POGOs.

In his third State of the Nation Address (SONA) last July 22, President Marcos declared a total ban on POGOs.

POGOs proliferated during the previous Duterte administration. The main reason for the current government's disenchantment with POGOs are the various criminal activities that the operators have been linked to.
