Sexagenarian killed, 4 injured as van rams waiting shed in Negros
BACOLOD CITY – A 62-year-old man died and four persons were injured after a delivery van crashed into a waiting shed in Bangga Pedion, Barangay Tabao Proper, Valladolid, Negros Occidental on Thursday morning, August 8.
Police identified the fatality as Arnaldo Amboboyog of Barangay Bagumbayan, Valladolid.

Police Major Eric Doronilla, Valladolid police chief, said that the van attempted to overtake a motorcycle which suddenly turned left.
The van swerved and hit the motorcycle then crashed into a waiting shed where the victim was sitting.
Amboboyog was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
The van driver, his two helpers and a 49-year-old motorcycle rider sustained minor injuries.
The 46-year-old van driver from Pontevedra, Negros Occidental was taken into police custody.
Doronilla said that Amboboyog’s family and the employer of the van driver have met for a possible settlement.
Meanwhile, a 23-year-old man was killed after his motorcycle collided with a truck on the Bacolod-Silay Access Road in Barangay Efigenio Lizares, Talisay City, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, August 7.
Police identified the victim as Edverth John Hoyohoy of Barangay Villamonte here.
The victim was on his way home to this city when he reportedly encroached on the opposite lane and rammed a truck headed to Silay City, Negros Occidental and driven by a 57-year-old man.
The victim ended up in a sugarcane field and sustained severe injuries. He was declared dead in a hospital.
