ILOILO CITY – Iloilo Gov. Arthur “Toto” Defensor Jr. has once again been awarded for good governance.
Defensor was one of the awardees of the 2024 Kaya Natin! Champions of Good Governance and Ethical Leadership.

He received the award from Kaya Natin! chairperson Bam Aquino on Thursday, August 8, in Quezon City.
Defensor was the only governor to receive the award that recognizes public governance via ethical, effective, and empowering leadership.
He has implemented improved programs since his election in 2019.
The zero open toilet program of the Iloilo Provincial Health Office was bestowed the Galing Pook Award in 2023.
The provincial government pushed the Purok Resilience Program which seeks to create a resilient community that is responsive to climate change and natural disasters.
The Defensor administration’s Movement for a Robust, Progressive, Globally Competitive, and Resilient Province of Iloilo or MoRProGRes Iloilo is gaining ground.
Also present during the awarding were Provincial Administrator Raul Banias, Mayor Jon Aying of Sara town, Iloilo, and Iloilo third district Provincial Board Member Jason Gonzales.
