Here's why LRT-1 is suspending its operations for three weekends
By Trixee Rosel

The Light Rail Transit 1 (LRT-1) will suspend its services for three weekends to facilitate the preparations for the LRT-1 Cavite Extension Phase 1, which is set to launch by the end of 2024.
The LRT-1 announced on Friday, Aug. 9, that there will be no train service from Fernando Poe Jr. station to Baclaran station from Aug. 17 to 18, Aug. 24 to 25, and Aug. 31 to Sept. 1.
These dates fall on a Saturday and Sunday.
The LRT-1 management said the temporary disruptions are essential to ensure a seamless and efficient operation of the extended LRT-1 line once it becomes fully operational.
Commuters are advised to seek alternative transportation options and to stay updated for further information.
