Senator Imee Marcos said that she's still friends with Vice President Sara Duterte even with the seemingly lukewarm relationship between the latter and President Marcos.

"Oo naman. Ako, ayoko nakikipag-away, ako inaaway yun ang problema (Oh, definitely. I don't getting into fights, but the problem is I'm the one being subjected to it)," she told reporters when asked about their friendship.
"Gusto ko sana Uniteam forever pero mukhang wasak na yan eh. Talagang nakakasama ng loob (For me I'd want a Uniteam forever pero it looks like that's over. It's really disheartening). I hope there's still something that can be done kasi above everything else dapat ang Pilipinas ang unahin (the Philippines should be prioritized)," she added.
The Vice President recently criticized the government anew, focusing on the state of security, health care, infrastructure, and democracy. She even stated that Filipinos “deserve better” and not leaders who are traitors to their sworn duty.
Just after airing her sentiments about the current administration, Duterte said that she hasn’t spoken to or seen the President.
She added that she has no description for their current relationship.
For the presidential sister, Duterte's concerns are the same goal that Filipinos want to achieve such as minimizing flooding, deterring the effects of typhoons, for the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) to fulfill their mandate, lower food prices, as well as peace and order.
"Yun lang naman talaga ang ating hangarin lahat tayo. Tapos eto nga may pitik sa administrasyon, sa palagay ko hindi na rin maiiwasan yan eh ganyan talaga. May areas na pwede talaga tayong magimprove (That's what all of us wants. Then there's a jab against the administration, and I think we cannot avoid that. There are areas where we can improve)," Marcos said.
"Maraming gutom. Maraming nahihirapan. Marami pang bagyong darating kailangan magkapit kamay tayo at magkaisa (A lot are still hungry and having a difficult time. There's still a lot of storms coming so we have to stick together and unite)," she added.
