City Mayor Weslie “WES” Gatchalian led the event in Barangay Mapulang Lupa, Valenzuela City.
The Eskwelusugan Caravan will travel around the schools in the city each week to offer medical and dental care directly to the students.
Each vehicle is staffed with a doctor and a dentist who will provide free health and dental check-ups.
Students can also receive free medicines and vitamins from the onboard pharmacy which will be set up on the school grounds during visits.
The mobile clinics will stay at each school for a couple of days to ensure that all students receive the care that they need.
The initiative aims to promote the overall well-being of the students and their academic success by providing easy access to essential health services, the local government said.
In addition to the relaunch of the Eskwelusugan Caravan, the city government also inaugurated the newly built 4-storey school building of the Pio Carreon Elementary School in Barangay Mapulang Lupa.

The new school building, which has a total lot area of 2,788 square meters and was built at the cost of P12 million, features a play area, a flagpole, entrance gates, and a covered court.
It added that the newly opened facility marks the 43rd primary school in the city, providing much-needed additional academic space for students in Brgy. Mapulang Lupa.
The new building aims to address the issue of overcrowded classrooms due to the increasing number of students.
“Ito pong area natin sa [Brgy.] Mapulang Lupa, katabi ng Purok Kwatro, ito po ay mga densely populated community. So, hindi na po enough ‘yung mga paaralan natin doon sa Mapulang Lupa main at gumawa na tayo ng panibagong structure (This area in Brgy. Mapulang Lupa, next to Purok Kwatro, is a densely-populated community. Since our schools in Mapulang Lupa are no longer enough, we have built a new structure),” City Mayor Weslie “WES” Gatchalian said.
“At very timely po na natapos natin ang Phase 1 [ngayon], kaya po gagamitin na itong brand-new facility ng mga estudyanteng nag-aaral (Good thing that we finished Phase 1 very timely, so the students can use this brand-new facility immediately),” he added.
Vice Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja, city officials, Pio Carreon Elementary students and faculty, Students, Parents, Teachers Association (SPRA) officers, Homeowners Association (HOA) officers, and Brgy. Mapulang Lupa Chairman Mark Santiago and Council also attended the event.
