The Diocese of Antipolo led by Bishop Ruperto Santos officiated a consecration ceremony at the Laguna Lake in memory of the boat tragedy that happened in the Binangonan side of the largest fresh water lake in the country on July 27, 2023.
Santos, together with the priests and parishioners from various parish churches in the province, first attended a holy mass at the Diocesan Shrine of the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary to pray for the 27 fatalities of the boat tragedy that struck Laguna Lake in Binangonan last year.

Following the Holy Mass, participants joined a fluvial procession from Cardona to the place of the sinking of the Princess Aya Express off Talim Island, then to the Port of Binangonan.
The consecration ceremony was attended by several parishioners in Cardona and Binangonan, including officials led by Binangonan Mayor Cesar Ynares and his wife Dr. Rose Martha Callanta Ynares.

At least 27 persons, mostly residents of Talim Island, died in the boat tragedy in 2023.
