Taiwanese firm to inject P15 billion into Clark's eco-township

State-run Clark Development Corp. (CDC) announced that Taiwanese firm BB International Leisure and Resort Development Corp. (BBILRDC) is expanding its investments in Clark, Pampanga.

In a statement, Agnes VST Devanadera, CDC president and chief executive officer, said that BBILRDC is injecting an additional P15 billion into a new eco-friendly integrated township project in Clark.

On July 31, Devanadera and Edgar Lim, BBILRDC Corporate Flagship Projects Director of BBILRDC, formalized the lease agreement at the Clark Visitors Center, solidifying their commitment to the development of the area.

“When we signed our lease agreement, both of us made a very good decision. For us, in taking you, BBI, and for you, in choosing Clark. Thank you, BBI,” Devanadera said.

For his part, Lim acknowledged the CDC’s support for the eco-township project.

“We are very grateful and excited for this opportunity to invest in a very special project that will rise in Clark. We will work hand-in-hand with the CDC in bringing this eco-township dream to reality,” he said.

BBILRDC President Wun Xu Wu stated that the additional P15 billion investment will go towards constructing the 101-hectare Midori Highlands, which will blend green spaces with urban living, including high-rise condominiums and a logistics center.

Wu also said that sustainable elements will encompass a rainwater collector, a solar farm, and energy-efficient transportation.

The president of BBILRDC added that the initial phase of the project will be developed on 24 hectares of prime land, consisting of eight blocks designed to form an urban enclave surrounded by green spaces.

Furthermore, Phase 2 will have 50 luxurious mountain villas with eco-friendly layouts, including living and dining areas as well as private patios.

Additionally, Wu remarked that the Midori Highlands Resorts and Spa will provide a coffee shop with views of the Sacobia River, spa facilities, and ten exclusive villas, each with a private jacuzzi.

BBILRDC has been situated in Clark since Sept. 29, 2006, and is the proprietor and manager of Midori Clark Hotel and Casino and Aqua Planet water theme park.
