More Filipino seafarers are assured of jobs as Japanese shipowners of Veritas Maritime Corporation have committed to continue providing slots for them in recognition of their vital role in the international shipping industry.
During the 35th anniversary celebration of the Veritas manning agency at the Manila Hotel, “K” Line Roro Bulk Ship Management Co. Ltd. (KRBS) managing executive officer Tadashi Takahashi said Filipino seafarers are also important to Japanese ship owners.
KRBS was established as a shipowner in 1917 in Kobe, Japan and currently involved in ship management.
Currently, it manages more than 130 vessels and over 6,000 seafarers together with the group of companies KRBS-ROHQ in the Philippines, Stargate Shipmanagement GmbH in Germany, Stargate Maritime Ltd. in Bulgaria, and Stargate Ukraine.
Veritas president Jiro Marquez expressed gratitude to the KRBS and honored the company’s employees through awards that recognized their role in the firms’ development and growth.
For his part, Veritas chairperson Ericson Marquez has committed to continue a loyal and sincere partnership with their principals, crew and staff who made the company 35-year strong.
Also present during the celebration held at the Manila Hotel was Department of Migrant Workers Assistant Secretary Jerome Pampolina who gave a congratulatory speech.Other Toshihito Inoue, chairman of the International Mariners Management Association of Japan; Capt. Kazumi Tomi, president of Kagoshima Senpaku Kaisha Ltd., and Capt. Nobuyoshi Hiratsuka, executive officer of KRBS.
