Housewife drowns in Quezon creek

CATANAUAN, Quezon – A 53-year-old housewife drowned after suffering epilepsy while doing the laundry in a creek in Sitio Central Barangay Tagabas Ibaba, this town, on Saturday, August 4.

Police identified the victim as Melba Arellano, a resident of Barangay Tagabas Ibaba.

Emely, the victim’s daughter, told police that her mother left their house to do the laundry on Saturday at around 9 a.m. and failed to return home.

Melba’s body was found by her neighbor, Lay Macarang, floating on the creek, on Sunday, August 4. Macarang reported the discovery to the police.

Investigation said Melba possibly suffered epileptic seizure while doing the laundry at the creek, fell into the water, and drowned.
