ILOILO CITY — The number of dengue cases in the province of Capiz increased by 127 percent from January to July 27.

THE province of Capiz reported an increase in the number of dengue cases in the first seven months of this year.
The Capiz Provincial Health Office recorded 933 dengue cases with one fatality during the seven-month period.
The capital of Roxas City had the highest number of cases with 243, 161 more than the 82 cases in the same period last year.
The CPHO also recorded clusters of dengue cases in 35 barangays. These barangays have three or more dengue cases recorded for four consecutive weeks.
Roxas City had the highest number of barangays with clustered dengue cases with nine.
Dumarao town had clustered cases in five barangays, five in Panit-an, four in Sigma, three in Dumalag, three in Maayon, two in Tapaz, one in Dao, and one in Panay.
Provincial health officials urged residents to keep their surroundings clean to avoid making them as breeding ground for mosquitoes.
