TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – Fishermen recovered four packs of floating shabu on the shorelines of this province last week.

Police Capt. Sheila Joy Fronda, spokesperson of the Cagayan Police Provincial Office, said the fourth and latest pack was discovered between Abulug and Ballesteros on Sunday, August 4.
Three packs were earlier found – one on July 29 in Sanchez Mira weighing about one kilogram and valued at P6.8 million as confirmed by the Cagayan police forensic unit; and one each on July 31 and August 2 in Calayan.
Fronda said these contraband – which also had the Chinese character markings Cai Yun Li similar to those found before in the Ilocos provinces and this province – have been submitted to the Cagayan police forensic unit for further examination.
She urged the people in the coastal areas in this province to report such recoveries to authorities.
Calayan Mayor Joseph Llopis offered a reward to residents who discover and report floating shabu.
