Philcom expands to VITRO Clark, Sta. Rosa

VITRO Inc., the data center of the PLDT Group, reported that telecommunications firm Philippine Global Communications Inc. (Philcom) expanding its network in VITRO Clark (VCK) and Vitro Sta. Rosa (VSR) to deliver top-notch, reliable connectivity solutions to enterprises.

PLDT said in a statement that this strategic move enhances telco diversity of the two data center sites, while extending Philcom’s network infrastructure to serve more local and global enterprises. 

This expansion underscores Philcom's commitment to providing superior connectivity solutions by leveraging VITRO's state-of-the-art facilities.

Philcom has been a long-time telco partner of VITRO, with established points-of-presence in multiple VITRO facilities, including Pasig, Makati 1 & 2, and Paranaque. 

These locations have been integral to Philcom's operations, offering robust and reliable infrastructure that supports their telecommunications services.

VITRO has just completed last month the structure of its 50-MW VITRO Sta. Rosa, the country’s first true and most advanced hyperscale data center. The construction milestone signifies the readiness of VITRO Sta. Rosa for power integration and energization.

VITRO Sta. Rosa will rise as the country’s largest data center campus by far ̶ a five-hectare property in the booming industrial city of Sta. Rosa in Laguna province.

It is designed to be energy efficient, utilizing the latest innovations in cooling and power redundancy, Rated-3 certified and Rated-4 ready, and with the highest level of network diversity and resilience with at least three fiber routes from PLDT and other telco providers.

Additionally, VITRO Sta. Rosa will host the country’s richest internet ecosystem and premier internet exchanges, making it the most ideal location for Availability Zones and Points-of-Presence of hyperscalers, as well as for critical systems of enterprises and the public sector.

“VITRO Sta. Rosa is a landmark achievement for the PLDT Group and the Philippines. A lot of hyperscalers have already expressed their interest in colocating in our facility,” said ePLDT and VITRO Inc. President and CEO Victor S. Genuino.

He added that, “Once it is complete, we will continue to build more data center facilities ahead of demand to anticipate the future requirements of our customers as they accelerate the adoption of cloud and AI technologies.”

With its structural completion, VITRO Sta. Rosa is completing another cornerstone in its development as it energizes the facility soon to welcome telcos, enterprises, and hyperscalers.
