P2.5-M shabu seized in Caraga


BUTUAN CITY – Police seized suspected shabu valued at P2.5 million in buy-bust operations in the Caraga region, particularly this city, Surigao del Norte and Agusan del Sur, on Friday, August 2.

Police Regional Office 13-Regional Public Information Office chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said five suspected drug pushers were apprehended – alias Lolong, a high-value individual (HVI), who was nabbed in Placer, Surigao del Norte; Jon and two others in Butuan City, and Jai in San Francisco, Agusan del Sur.

“Follow-up operations are also ongoing to arrest their other contacts and dealers,” Ometer added.

"Our investigators are preparing airtight charges against the arrested individuals for violation of RA No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002,” PRO-13 chief Police Brig. Gen. Alan Nazarro said. 

“Our campaign remains relentless to trace and capture those involved in the illegal drug trade in the region," Nazarro added.
