Jeepney driver stabbed to death by jealous rival

LUCENA CITY, Quezon – A 49-year-old jeepney driver was stabbed to death by his jealous love rival in Purok Dalungyan, Barangay Isabang, this city, on Saturday afternoon, August 3.

Police identified the victim as Dagul.

Investigation said that the suspect Erwin, 45, self-employed, confronted the victim regarding his alleged affair with Diana.

The confrontation resulted in a heated argument and a fistfight until the suspect who was armed with a bladed weapon stabbed Dagul several times.

Erwin fled and Dagul was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.

The victim’s relatives said the motive of the killing was a love triangle among Dagul, Erwin, and Diana.

Meanwhile, a 50-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by his drinking buddy in Barangay Matandang Sabang Silangan, Catanauan, this province, on Saturday midnight, August 3.

Police identified the victim as Jose.

Investigation said the suspect Eduardo, 50, and Jose arrived together in a store and purchased a bottle of liquor and three sticks of cigarettes.

They engaged in a drinking session and left.

Hours later, Jose was found dead on the seashore of the area with two stab wounds in the chest.
