Yulo made history on Sunday after he won the gold medal in the vault finals of men's artistic gymnastics. This is his second victory in two days, making him the first Filipino to win two Olympic gold medals.

In a Facebook post, President Marcos said Filipinos were united in cheering and rooting for the Golden Boy's success.

"No words can express how proud we are of you, Caloy.  You have achieved GOLD for the Philippines not once, but twice!" he wrote.

"Aming ipinagmamalaki ang tagumpay mong nagniningning! Saludo kami sayo! (We are proud of your shining success! We salute you!)," he added.

On Saturday, Marcos predicted that Yulo's gold medal in the men’s artistic gymnastic floor exercise was just the beginning.

"I am confident that it will not be the last," he said.

"Congratulations, Caloy! The entire country stands proud with you!" he continued.

Meanwhile, First Lady Liza cheered for Yulo, noting how incredible it was watching him win the gold medal for the second time.

"Woo hoo!! Watching you win that GOLD in REAL TIME for the second time was incredible!" she wrote.

"You’ve made your country proud. 𝘎𝘈𝘓𝘐𝘕𝘎!!!" she added.

The Olympics Facebook page also congratulated Yulo for his historic win.

"HE'S DONE IT AGAIN! Carlos Yulo is a two-time Olympic champion! Two golds in two days!" it wrote.

The official Facebook page of the Paris Games likewise acknowledged Yulo's success.

"2 DAYS IN A ROW! Carlos Edriel Yulo just made history! First Filipino athlete to win 2 Olympic gold medals," it said.

"Paris really suits him!" it added.

With Yulo's recent victory, the Philippines now has two Gold medals in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Overall, this is the Philippines' third gold medal since it started participating in the Olympics 100 years ago.

Weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz won the country's first gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
