The event was held at Amoranto Sports Center in Quezon City.

Mayor Joy Belmonte and FFCCCII president Dr. Cecilio Pedro led the relief effort.

The initiative aims to strengthen the ties among the 30 major Filipino-Chinese civic and cultural associations and to provide essential aid to families affected by the recent flooding.

The relief packs contained five kilograms of rice and noodles.

Pedro said that the Filipino-Chinese community is committed to assisting those in need.

“Kami po'y nandito para tumulong, para mabawasan 'yung kahirapan natin dahil sa baha (We are here to help, to ease the difficulties we face because of the flooding),” he said.

He also encouraged others to extend their help.

So if possible, let's help our fellow citizens who are struggling),” Pedro said.

We refer you to all those offering us help as the ones who deserve to receive assistance and support, especially since you were the ones who experienced the severe challenges brought about by Typhoon Carina),” Belmonte said.

She also assured the residents that efforts are underway to prevent the recurrence of such a disaster.

Therefore, we are also preparing your areas to ensure that you do not experience a situation similar to what we faced during Typhoon Carina),” Belmonte said.

The mayor also expressed her gratitude to FFCCCII for their generous support in the city.

“Maraming pong salamat sa iyong pagdalo at pakiisa sa amin. Sigurado hindi po namin makakalimutan ang magandang loob na pinakita ninyo sa mga mamamayan ng lungsod Quezon ngayong araw na ito (Thank you very much for your attendance and support. We are certain that we will not forget the kindness you have shown to the people of Quezon City today),” she said.
