NBI nabs fake dentist in Victorias City


BACOLOD CITY – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)-Bacolod arrested a 61-year-old fake dentist in an entrapment operation in Barangay 2, Victorias City, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, August 28.

The NBI recovered a dental chair and other equipment at the suspect’s clinic.

A complaint for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9484 or the Philippine Dental Act of 2007 was filed by the NBI against the suspect on Thursday, August 29.

RA 9484 regulates the practice of dentistry, dental hygiene, and dental technology in the Philippines.

The NBI, which warned the people against availing of the services of bogus dentists for their safety, acted on the request of the Philippine Dental Association (PDA)-Negros Occidental Chapter Inc. for assistance to curb the proliferation of illegal practice of dentistry in the province based on information provided by the PDA national office.
