K-pop group The Boyz: Manila is like our hometown


Members of K-pop group The Boyz held their concert in the Philippines and said Manila was like their hometown. 

The Boyz, composed of Juyeon, Eric, Q, Jacob, Sangyeon, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Kevin, New, Haknyeon and Sunwoo, held their Zeneration II world tour in Manila on Aug. 25 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. 

They returned to Manila for another concert after holding their Zeneration in Manila in July last year. 

“Manila always feels like my hometown. I need to say this,” said Eric as the members greeted the crowd.

He said, “To be honest, I missed you guys so much but since I’m here right now, I can’t be any happier. Great to be back.” 

“Kamusta, bestie? Nagagalak ako na makita kayong multi (How are you, bestie? I’m glad to see you all again),” said Kevin. 

“Ang ganda niyo (You are beautiful),” said Sunwoo while Hyunjae said, “Kamusta kayo? (How are you?).” 

Juyeon said, “I missed you so much. Speaking of Manila, I want to visit somewhere. Siargao,” referring to an island Surigao del Norte known to tourists for surfing. 

“Following last year's 'Zeneration,' we are here to meet again,” said Younghoon. 

Kevin also mentioned the Philippines winning at the Paris Olympics. 

“You guys had a moment in Paris,” he said, mentioning the win by gymnast Carlos Yulo, who bagged two gold medals for the Philippines in floor exercise and vault.  

The Boyz opened their concert with “Diamond Life,” “Out of Control” and “Maverick.” 

They also performed “Tattoo,” “Levitating,” “Back All Black, “Breaking Dawn,” “Complete Me,” “Fantasize” and “Right Here.” 

The Boyz also impressed the audience with “Thrill Ride,” “D.D.D,” “Walkin' in Time,” “Horizon “Survive The Night,” “Back 2 U,” “Hurt Me Less,” “Bite Back,” “”Reveal,” “The Stealer,” “Watch It,” “Nectar” and “Fire Eyes.”

As they bid farewell to their fans, Eric mentioned again that Manila is like The Boyz’s hometown. 

“Like I said, Manila, I feel like you guys are, you know,  like our hometown. It’s always  good to be home. The energy that I received from you guys, I will not forget this moment. You guys mean the world to me. So don’t ever forget that. We will be back soon, Manila,” said Eric. 

Kevin said, “Thank you so much for being such loyal and passionate fans. It was such a great time tonight. I want to be back as soon as possible. Mami-miss ko kayo (I will miss you).” 

“Babalik kami (We will be back). Thank you for taking your time with us today. Stay healthy and please look forward to our next album. See you later,” according to Sangyeon. 

Sunwoo said, “Thank you for such a great time. I hope we can meet you guys soon. Thank you so much and see you.”

“Thank you for enjoying with us tonight from the bottom of my heart. As mentioned earlier, we will be back soon with a better album,” said Hyunjae. 

Younghoon told fans, “I was really, really happy today. Thanks to your energy that we received. We will prepare for our next comeback soon. Mahal kita (I love you).” 

“I was very happy. Even from the start of the concert, I really did my best. Thank you for your good passion and energy. Huwag kayo tumingin sa iba, sa akin lang (Don't look at anyone else, just at me),” said Juyeon. 

Haknyeon said, “Today’s concert was really fun. Please stay healthy until we are back. See you guys next time.” 

“I want to dance with more energy and with more powerful vibes. Thanks to your energy, I was able to control my cold somehow. Mahal kita (I love you). See you again next time,” said Q. 

Jacob said, “I hope you had a great time.” He also sang Filipino singer Zack Tabudlo’s “Binibini.” 

“You guys have been waiting for such a long time but thank you for waiting and being with us. I really, really love you guys,” said New. 

The Boyz’s Zeneration II world tour in Manila was presented by DNM Entertainment.
