Yulo, who became the first-ever Filipino double gold medalist in a single Olympic edition, received the cash gift from DigiPlus and ArenaPlus, which also re-signed the 24-year-old gymnast as their brand ambassador.

“Sobrang blessed and grateful po ako sa mga ganitong pagsuporta, kaya nagpapasalamat po ako sa kanila for being there by my side to support,” said Yulo after accepting the cash gift from Eusebio H. Tanco, the Chairman of DigiPlus.

“Success does not come overnight. It’s made possible with the support of those who believe in you,” he added. “I’m honored to have incredible partners by my side as we chase dreams for the Philippines.”

“DigiPlus is immensely proud to support champions like Carlos, whose relentless pursuit of excellence embodies the spirit of the Filipino people,” said Tangco. “Handa kaming sumuporta sa lahat ng atletang nangangarap na magtagumpay, katulad ni Carlos.”

Also present in the ceremony was Gymnastics Association of the Philippines chief Cynthia Carrion, who stressed how rock solid the sport’s program is in the present after Yulo’s fruitful campaign in the notable French city.

“Very rock solid, right now we have 100 little Carlos Yulos who wanted to be like him,” said Carrion.

“After all he had been through he deserved it, all of it,” she added.

Yulo, a World and Asian Championships multi-titlist, had been receiving a massive cash windfall that amassed more than P100 million.

The pride of Leveriza made his mark in Philippine sports history after ruling the floor exercise and vault apparatus of the men’s artistic gymnastics in Paris.

His achievement also carried the Nationals to their most successful stint in the Summer Games since joining a century ago.
