400 Cebu students join Go Negosyo’s entrepreneurship training

Some 400 Senior High School students in Cebu City attended non-profit organization Go Negosyo’s entrepreneurship training program, which aims to promote entrepreneurial mindset and financial literacy among the Filipino youth.

In a statement, Go Negosyo said that the students from Abellana National School in Cebu City joined the Youthpreneur, Go Negosyo’s nationwide program in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd), last Aug. 28.

“Youthpreneur is going to help our young students to develop an entrepreneurial mindset be it as an employee or employer,” Go Negosyo founder Joey Concepcion said.

He added that the program not only encourages students to become entrepreneurs in the future, but it also prepares them for a life in the corporate world.

DepEd Assistant Secretary for Curriculum and Teaching Alma Ruby Torio also delivered an inspirational message via video, wherein she expressed the DepEd’s support of entrepreneurship training among the schools.

Aside from Concepcion, top business executives also spoke to the students.

This included Profood Intl. President Justin Uy, Zip Technologies CEO Josephine Romero, RNC Marketing founder and CEO Rey Calooy, Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Jay Yuvallos, Mata Technologies CEO Eria Dell Sanco, But First Coffee President Isabelle Magalona, Metal Straw PH founder and CEO Nadine Ablaza, The Pages Food Group Chairman and CEO Bunny Pages, Menchavez Legal Services’ Atty. Estrella Menchavez, Ideaz Advertising Founder Adriano Zen Pastoriza, P&A Grant Thornton Director Atty. Kim Aranas, and Konverge Builders CFO Renea Tan.
