PFP President and South Cotabato Gov. eynaldo Tamayo Jr. presided over their induction at L’Fisher Hotel here on August 26.

Nine were mayors from Negros Occidental, three from Negros Oriental, and two from Siquijor.

In a press briefing after the event, Tamayo said that he considered the number of new members from NIR as “super majority.”

“The result of the oathtaking was very good. It was fruitful,” Tamayo said, adding that it showed the support of the local officials.

Tamayo said that their group does not aim for big numbers but they give importance to leaders that believe in the principles of the PFP.

Sworn in from Negros Occidental were Mayors Javier Miguel “Javi” Benitez of Victorias City, Marvin Malacon of E.B. Magalona town, Gerry Rojas of Murcia town, Daph Reliquias of Hinoba-an town, Ray Ruiz of Candoni town, Alejandro Mirasol of Binalbagan town, Raymund Tongson of Himamaylan City, Benjie Miranda of Kabankalan City, and Enrique Miravalles of Valladolid town.

In NIR, they were Siquijor Gov. Jake Villa and Negros Oriental Gov. Manuel Sagarbarria.

Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson remains with the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) but Tamayo said that NPC has an alliance with the  PFP.

Lacson said that more local officials from Negros Occidental have expressed interest in joining the PFP.
