President Marcos has sent well wishes to Filipino athletes who will be representing the country at the 2024 Paris Paralympics, telling them that the "whole nation is with you."

As you represent the Philippines in the 2024 Paris Paralympics Games, know that you are all already champions in our eyes," Marcos said in his message on Thursday night, Aug. 29.
Six Filipino Paralympians namely Allain Keanu Ganapin, Angel Mae Otom, Agustina Maximo Bantiloc, Cendy Asusano, Ernie Gawilan, and Jerrold Pete Mangliwan will be donning the Philippine colors at the Paralympics until Sept. 8.
"Your commitment to your training as elite athletes, despite challenges you face, exemplifies the spirit of the Filipino people," the President told the national athletes.
He further told them that no praise would suffice the pride they bring the country, and assured them that the nation is behind their journey.
"No accolade, praise, or reward can truly return the pride you bring to our country. As you take on the world stage at Paralympics, remember that the whole nation is with you, supporting you every step of the way," Marcos said.
"Compete with the heart of Filipino warriors, and show the world the strength of our people. We are all immensely proud of you. Best of luck, and Mabuhay and Team Pilipinas," he added.
It can be recalled that during the commemoration of National Heroes Day, Marcos paid tribute to the country's modern-day heroes, acknowledging the Paralympians' heroism despite their disabilities.
The President highlighted that they keep on bringing honor to the country despite the various challenges that come their way, including "struggles of financial constraints."
