‘Made in Korea’: Hyun Bin, Jung Woo-sung to star in Disney+ series


Korean stars Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung will go head-to-head in “Made in Korea,” a new series coming to Disney+ next year. 

“Made in Korea” is set in the turbulent 1970s and is about Baek Ki-tae (Hyun Bin), a man consumed with a desire for wealth and power, and Jang Geon-young (Jung Woo-sung), a stalwart prosecutor who stands in his way. 

Constantly at loggerheads, the pair find themselves involved in an era-defining incident that will forever change their futures.

The cast of "Made in Korea" (Disney+)

This will be Hyun Bin’s comeback drama in five years since starring in “Crash Landing on You,” which aired from December 2019 to February 2020.

It is also a reunion for Hyun Bin, Jung Woo-sung and director Woo Minho after working in the film “Harbin.” Jung Woo-sung had a special appearance in the film. 

“Made in Korea” is also Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung’s first OTT project. 

Also in the cast of the series are Jung Sung-il, Won Ji-an, Seo Eun-soo and Cho Yeo-jeong. 

The series is written by Park Eunkyo (“Sea of Tranquility,” “Mother”) and Park Joonseok (“A Normal Family”), directed by Woo Minho and produced by Hive Media Corp (“Inside Men,” “The Man Standing Next,” “Seoul Spring”).
