DA rolls out ASF vaccination in Batangas

LOBO, Batangas – The government started the vaccination campaign against Asian Swine Fever (ASF) in this province here on Friday, August 30.

The Department of Agriculture (DA), the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI), and the Provincial Veterinary and Municipal Agriculture Office inoculated 41 piglets with vaccines purchased from Vietnam in a farm owned by Vicente Manalo in Barangay Malapad na Parang.

The farm tested negative for ASF on Thursday, August 29.

DA Assistant Secretary Dante Palabrica said the effects of the vaccine will be determined in 14 days and a blood test will be conducted to find out the the health of the hogs.
