The Valenzuela City local government received 33 new” WIN Serbisyo” fire trucks from the Office of Senator Win Gatchalian on Saturday, August 3, to enhance the fire response in the city.
City Mayor Weslie “WES” Gatchalian together with Senator Win Gatchalian led the inauguration and turnover ceremony for the 33 barangays in Barangay Dalandanan, Valenzuela City.
According to the city government, the trucks were funded by the office of Senator Gatchalian.
The cost of the trucks reached P95,639,400.
The fire trucks were designed to maneuver narrow roads and ensure an immediate and efficient fire response in the city.
It features a 1,000 liter water tank, a modern portable fire pump, a multifunctional blinker, a rugged weather-resistant enclosure and a compact build to access tight roads.
Meanwhile, the turnover ceremony highlighted the city government’s commitment to public safety and disaster preparedness.
Mayor Gatchalian emphasized that the additional fire trucks played a pivotal role in the city’s emergency response and demonstrated the city’s commitment to providing excellent emergency services, ensuring that even the most challenging areas of the city can be effectively protected.
The new fire trucks will strengthen the Bantay Sunog program, which aims to transform Valenzuela from a fire-prone area to a fire-resistant city.
Vice Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja, and city council officials, representatives from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) - Valenzuela, barangay chairpersons, Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials, Bantay Sunog volunteers, and Homeowners’ Association officers also graced the event.
