Commander Jansen Benjamin, head of PCG-northern Negros Occidental, said the boat owner reported the incident to the PCG after his crew members informed him that one of their companions could not be found in the boat.
Benjamin said that Leodigario Brosas, 24, of Victorias City, Negros Occidental, was last seen asleep on the aft of the fishing vessel after they had a fishing venture on Friday night, August 2.
He believed that Brosas might have fallen off the vessel and his companions probably noticed he was missing while they were already on their way back to Victorias City around 1 a.m.
Benjamin, who also concurrently heads the SAR team in Negros, said they are awaiting the crew members to give their statement on the incident.
He said they have also alerted other vessels transiting within the vicinity and informed residents to be on lookout for Brosas.
Benjamin said they also informed PCG sub-stations for possible sightings.
