Bacolod centenarian awarded P100,000

BACOLOD CITY – A centenarian from this city recently received a cash incentive of P100,000 from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The recipient was Emilia Henares from Barangay 22. She turned 100-years-old last March 15.

Henares was born on March 15, 1924. She has no children.

Despite her old age, Henares said that she is thankful that she can still walk.

She said that she still reads a book as she is fond of reading.

Henares said the cash incentive is a big help for their daily needs.

She advised the younger generation to limit rice intake and eat healthy food.

The distribution of the cash incentive was witnessed by barangay officials headed by barangay captain Diosdado Mayo.
