23 Eastern Visayas cooperatives receive P50,000 aid each

TACLOBAN CITY â€“ Sen. Bong Go led the Malasakit sa Kooperatiba Awarding Ceremony for Cooperative Beneficiaries of Region 8 on Saturday, August 3, in Catbalogan City, Samar.

Twenty-three cooperatives from Eastern Visayas received P50,000 cash assistance totaling P1.150 million.

The recipients identified by Cooperative Development Authority were micro-cooperatives with assets below P3 million.

Two were from Samar, one from Northern Samar, three from Biliran, three from Eastern Samar, three from Ormoc City, seven from Leyte, and four from Southern Leyte.

Go said he pushed for the program to ensure continuous assistance for cooperatives to grow and flourish.

Samar Gov. Sharee Ann Tan expressed gratitude to Go for always helping not only in terms of cash assistance for cooperatives but also with other development for the province.
