The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has warned the public regarding online scams circulating on social media that falsely promise a cash assistance of P5,000 to National ID holders.

In an advisory, the PSA said that these fraudulent social media posts are not associated with the agency and urged the public to exercise caution and avoid falling victim to such scams.

While the National ID serves as valid proof of identity for various transactions, PSA clarified that any government benefits are granted based on the rules and regulations of the relevant agencies.

The PSA has asked the public to report any online scams regarding National ID cash assistance by contacting the nearest PSA office, visiting the official Facebook page, emailing [email protected], or calling the Hotline at 1388.
