Para archer Agustina Bantiloc is battling in the women's individual compound open at press time along with 27 others that include world record holder Phoebe Paterson Pine of Great Britain.
Bantiloc, the oldest of the six- player PH delegation at 56 years old, is fresh from serving as the country's flag-bearer along with para swimmer Ernie Gawilan in the opening ceremony held in Paris on Wednesday, Aug. 28.
Meanwhile, three-time Paralympian Jerrold Mangliwan opens his bid in wheelchair racing on Friday, Aug. 30, in the men’s 400m T52 heats, while Gawilan, who is also in his third Paralympics stint, competes on Saturday, August 31, in the men’s 200-meter individual medley SM7 heats.
Also seeing action on the same day is para taekwondo jin Allain Ganapin also competes in the men’s K44 -80kg class where he faces Refugee Paralympic Team’s Hadi Hassanzada in the round of 32.

Para swimmer Angel Otom, for her part, starts her quest on Tuesday, Sept. 3, in the women’s 50m backstroke S5 heats, while Cendy Asusano is the last to see action on Saturday, Sept.7, in the women’s javelin throw F54 final.
The PH team hopes to return to the podium after winning two bronze medals in the history of the Games courtesy of para powerlifter Adeline Dumapong in the 2000 Sydney and the late para table tennis player Josephine Medina in the 2016 Rio.
